On Thanksgiving Day while running in a turkey trot in my home town with local friends, I was also running virtually with blogging friends from around the world! Thanks Cari for putting together this collage for us!

I started my day early training three clients and doing a scaled back strength training session before starting to cook for the rest of the day. Just after 4 PM I realized that I’d completely forgotten to pick up my race packet for the following morning’s turkey trot so I walked over the river and through the woods (literally) to packet pickup.

Thursday

Running: 5K

• Elevation gain: 112 feet
• Start time: 8:25 AM
• Location: neighborhood streets
• Weather: 34° and sunny, climbing to 36°
• What I wore: capris, tank, nylon shell, gloves, ear warmer headband, and visor

Foam rolling: 10 minutes

Stretching: 10 minutes

I had a fantastic time seeing so many friends at the annual turkey trot in our neighborhood. I ran a great race for my age and current training level, but I didn’t meet my A-goal of running paces in the low 8’s. These days I run minimally and don’t do speedwork so I’m happy with my time which was good enough to give me a win in my age group of 13 women. I plan to post my race recap on Tuesday.

My husband snagged this picture of me crossing the finish line.

Friday

I had every intention to lift weights, but by 7 AM I was carrying boxes up from the basement to decorate the house for Christmas, both inside and out. Twelve hours later I still hadn’t “exercised”, but I’d put over 20,000 steps on my Fitbit (affiliate link).

Saturday

Strength training: 1 hour of total body

Walking: 2 miles
• Average pace: 14:43
• Elevation gain: 108 feet
• Start time: 1:43 PM
• Location: neighborhood circle
• Weather: 59° and sunny
• What I wore: capris, s/s shirt, and visor

Gardening: 3.5 hours of heavy lifting, digging, pruning, etc. completing fall cleanup

Last Week’s Blog Posts

In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…

Questions:
  • • If you celebrate Christmas, do you put up a real or artificial tree? ~ We always got a real tree until the stand broke one year and water poured out of the stand, leaked through the carpet and floor and onto my wedding dress stored in the unfinished part of the basement below.
  • • What was your favorite workout of the week? ~ No doubt, my favorite workout was running in our local turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning where I saw so many friends.
  • • Did you run in a race on Thanksgiving Day or over the weekend? ~ Yes, I ran in a turkey trot on Thursday!

And that’s my rundown… Have a great week!
